The fixed link between Amager and Skåne runs for 16 kilometres: eight kilometres of cable-stayed bridge, four kilometres of artificial island, four kilometres of tunnel. It is the only fixed road and rail connection between Sweden and continental Europe — and one of the most expensive crossings in the world.

No fixed date, no fixed time: you travel whenever you like within 30 days. At the toll station you pay 8 € more — and queue for it.
From Europe to Scandinavia
Driving from Germany to southern Sweden means crossing water twice: the Fehmarn Belt and the Øresund. For the Øresund there is exactly one fixed link — this bridge. For the Fehmarn Belt, the Puttgarden–Rødby ferry covers 20 kilometres in 45 minutes.
The alternative is the way through Jutland and across the Great Belt bridge: more kilometres, more hours, and an extra toll of 235 DKK for a car (205 DKK with a Bizz or plate recognition, price list from 1 January 2026).
Scandlines sells the ferry and the bridge toll as one ticket: one booking, one receipt, and the bridge is settled before you reach the toll station.

The high bridge stands exposed in the sound. In a storm it closes first to trailers and high-sided vehicles, then completely. Our status bar pools the reports of both road authorities.
